Attended the Graduation cum Parents-teacher meeting for Dillion's enrichment classes held at his Child care centre last Dec 2011.

The phonics lesson was outsourced to Masterhand Learning Asia Pacific. They gave positive feedback on Dillion and saying he was very participative and lively!

Chinese Trial Class ..

Its been ages since I last sent Dillion to enrichment classes. He last attended Growing up Gifted in end 2009.

Since he also attends Phonics and Mandarin Speech n Drama in his school, hence I did not want to further tire him. Well, just hope that he can enjoy his childhood as much as he can.

Tien Hsa language centre had a branch in Bishan CC which is only 5 min walk and we were very lucky to be offered a slot on Sat morning, 9.30am (they are always quite fully booked when i enquire last year) for a trial class on start of new term 2012 so I decided to let D give it a try.

D at first protested against going for Mandarin lesson.. he just hates learning Mandarin. So i tempted him with a ice cream treat after lesson and he relented.

Trial class on 14 Jan, Saturday:
Not sure if you can spot him.. he sat right inside.. the trial class lasted 1.5hr

His made-in china Teacher feedbacked that he is quite a good student.. able to write difficult chinese characters and is encouraged to sign him up for lessons.

The Centre let me go back to consider and i was not even charged for this trial!! Strange!

With add on lessons from his Childcare.. i really have think if its neccesary to start him on extra lesson on weekend!

Combined Concert- 18 Nov 2011

Dillion went for his 1st combined concert held in YWCA Fort Canning Lodge.

Kevin and I attended and believe it anot, I felt so emotional and proud to see him on stage puting up a play in MANDARIN!

I ever heard him recite his lines at home and glad that sending him for extra lesson in Chinese speech and drama paid off!

It was a combined concert with other 2 branches and the children put up a splendid performances.

Dillion missed out on the full dress rehersal due to our Genting trip.. thankfully the Teachers still allowed him to perform.

Genting 10-13 Nov 2011..

Our 2nd trip down to Genting via coach for the 2nd time in year 2011 together with my MIL and the Aunts. I think this will be the last time I'm going to Genting untill Damien is older and able to sit through the journey to and fro.

We basically just spend our days in the indoor amusement park much to the boys' delight! They get unlimited rides and which we parents have no choice but to oblige. Thankfully Dillion is able to sit on the car rides..

Same company hence same itinery so nothing much to blog about this trip.

Once in a while Dillion will offer to help me to fold clothes. His teachers must have taught him how to do it.

Hello!

Am still around and trying to revive this neglected blog of mine! Been so busy at work as I had to try to clear my work on daily basis so that I can leave on the dot at 5.20 pm which means no time to surf or update this journal.

Sometimes when I look back at the past entries, it be so nostalgic as I would blog all about Dillion when he first arrive in April 2007. All my emotions, thoughts and his milestones were all in this blog!

Guilty me did not even do the same for Damien.. perhaps his milestone does not excite me anymore.

My resolutions for 2012 is to be more diligent and to clear my back logs of entries. I have tons of photos to post. Which also playing with the thought of locking up this blog to restrict viewers since some people wants their privacy I respect their decision. So its time for me myself to think likewise.. perhaps by locking up, is easier for me pen my thoughts rather than being selective.

Sick?

Couple of weeks ago, Dillion complained of not feeling well on a Sunday night. I fed him Paracetamol and send him off to bed. Next day we gave him the benefit of doubt and let him skip school to rest at home.

Oh boy.. he was jumping up and down for joy and no sign of falling sick at all!

Which i thought he may be telling me a white lie to skip school

And so 2 weeks ago, whilst we were at Kevin's grand ma place. He complained of tummy ache. I was not really bothered and just rub some medicated oil on his tummy. He seem fine and alert. And could even play with my phone though he did whine about having tummy ache

And we even went to my GrandMa place. Over there, he started to feel restless and kept bugging us to go back home.

My uncle gave us a lift home which was only 10 min drive away. Mid way.. he told us "I want to VOMIT".. we hurriedly search plastic bags and luckily my Aunt had a plastic box in the car. Within seconds, he started vomitting his dinner out!

We manage to catch 90% of it but the car seat was not sparred!

Lesson learnt: To trust my own Son! :p

So we got home at 9-ish pm.. gave him a quick warm shower, and i push him out in the stroller on my own to 24 hr clinic.
As I would not want him to vomit / diarrhea through the night

After registration, this lil' sick boy suddenly was well again and back to his active self by climbing up and down, walking on the chairs! Arrgh

This is my 1st mobile blog post sent via my latest tech toy- iPhone4S ever since i started this blog..

All along the Husband and I been using not-so-smart phone since the start of the Apple craze.
I do not want Dillion to hog my phone everytime I am at home.

But when we had a chance to purchase iPhone without having to queue, we jumped on the bandwagon and got each other a iPhone.

It was fun Whatsapp-ing with Kevin and he sent me this photo so I tried to post it whilst I was walking to the train station..

Some photos which I manage to get his Form teacher to email me as I missed his Parents-Teacher Meeting last month. His current childcare does not let he parents keep physical reports or photos unlike his previous CC which we get a folder with some photos and some of worksheets/work he did in school.

Dental Check up..

Its funny how Dillon's eyes always lit up when I tell him that he needs to get his teeth checked.
And he would look forward eagerly to the appointment.

It was Oral Health Month 2011 and was held at Junction 8 in August. There were free dental check up at the marques. I bought D there and was disappointed as I would have assume is basic cleaning of teeth instead the dentist only roughly look into his teeth with his mirror and told us "oh he has holes in his teeth".

That set me in panic mode as she say "go make a appointment with the dentist ASAP".

We actually had a appointment with the School Dental centre in Nov and I decided to take the plunge and brought him to a private dental clinic in September. As I had heard of horror stories of kids with bad tooth decay needing to go for GA for surgery.

Dental check up on 19 Sep 2011:

This check up burnt a hole! It cost me $110 for this cleaning/polishing job. The Dentist took about an 1 hour and did a very detailed cleaning and also 'patch the hole' in his teeth.

And my boy just sat through the whole process!! Though he kept fidgeting and laughing with the Doc.

If its me, i probably freak out at the thought of visiting Mr Dentist..

The difference between spending $9 vs $100 is time spent on the teeth. And D have nice set of white teeth when he was done!

Its a pity, i forgot to take a shot of his teeth!

HK Sep 2011- Day 3

Day 3- HK Disney Land..

We booked our tickets via our agency and we really prayed hard for good weather because if it rained means our tickets will go down the drain.
If we buy tickets on our own means we had to arrange our own transport. Taking the train with toddlers in tow is a big headache!

We reached there at 10am.. The boys were so excited upon seeing the entrance! It drizzle for a lil while then hot sun came out again.. and its scorching hot sun!

We rented a stroller intended for Damien but the big boy snatch it away..

One disgusting fact at Disney was that its 90% filled with Mainland tourist whom don't give a dammed on why should i queue up?? Its amazing to see majority of adults going for Carousel ride! yes.. i was even fighting for seat with them.. shame on them!
Their embarassing behaviour sorta spoil my mood..

The Street parade started at 3pm

We decided to depart from Disney after the parade at about 4pm as the weather was unbearable and with 3 sleepy and cranky toddler in tow, we decided to return to the hotel on our own via their MTR instead of waiting for the tour bus at 9pm

Many felt we did not make good use of our time in Disney.. i think so too..
Anyhow, we are planning are another trip there again in year 2012 probably in Apr just before Damien turns 2!

HK Sep 2011- Day 2

We went on a day tour complimentary of the travel agency. As all of us are not very familar with HK so we thought of just going along with the tour as it also covers cable car ticket to Lantau island.

We start with yum char breakfast think we paid about HKD 70 per adult.
My grouse on dinning out in HK is that most restuarants do not have high chair for toddlers! I think only Mc Donalds have it.

They only have added cushion which is a danger for Damien! We can't eat in peace!

HK trip 14 - 17 Sep 2011.. Day 1

We did not go for an overseas holiday trip in Year 2010 due to the arrival of Damien which he was deemed too young to travel.

We make it up in year 2011 with few short getaways to neighbouring countries.

We went to Hong Kong with our good friends as well as our kids in tow. Although is very easy to tour around HK but we chose to book our tickets and hotel via agency so that they can handle our hotel transfers instead of lugging the kids and the luggages around.

We took the Tiger Airways flight at ungodly hour of 6am! This will be that last time that we are taking this Airline because for the 2nd time we took this flight, it chose to rain on both occasions.. Making it worse was no aero bridge in budget terminal. So imagine walking towards the plane under heavy rain although umbrellas are provided.

We checked into the hotel at about 1pm, had a lunch buffet at the hotel then me and my girl friend went to shop whilst the boys took their nap!

We stayed at Prudential Hotel located above Jordan MTR.

We had an early night as we were all tired!

This is the first time Dillion is wearing a pair of slippers bought from Bata.

He always been wearing Crocs shoes and somehow not every used to wearing slip on slippers.

The slippers tend to 'fly off' when he walked!

Fake ON / Gap PJ

Lesson Learnt:
Never ever buy Old Navy or Gap PJ from unknown sellers or bulk purchase (BP) seller from the Forum!

This is my 2nd time buying a fake ON pj from a BP seller from the forum.

1st was in 2008 when a buyer 'made noise' in the thread.

2nd was few months back also from a BP seller in the forum since she claim that they were authentic and only $9 per set. Authentic PJ will cost approx USD9!

I spree from ON regularly be it my own or joining other people's spree. I am so used to the quality and the material of the PJ bought directly from ON.

When I first received the PJ.. the material felt rough.. not quite the same as the regular ones that Dillion always wear. I found a 'Made in Malaysia' but those authentic ones are either 'Made in China' or 'India'.

Further confirmed my doubts when after a couple washes, the fake PJ shrank and 18-24m size seem too small for a then 12 mth old Damien..

See the difference? The word Old Navy print on a authentic PJ is much apparent compared to the fake PJ. And mind you, Dillion been wearing that PJ for 1 year and the print is still as good as new! Look at the fake..

Once bitten, twice shy.. though its a cheap lesson learnt, I will never ever buy ON/Gap PJ from unknown sources!

His companion when he sleep:
This teddy bear is actually a child haversack harness or a child's leash.

Though it may not look boyish for him to hug a teddy to sleep, but i don't mind a bit..
Though he may rotate amongst other stuffs he fancy.

At least he does not need a pacifier or a 'smelly' pillow to sleep. I remembered needing a small blankie to sleep.. and never got it washed! Yucks!

My date to the Gynae

Don't get me wrong, I'm not pregnant with Baby #3.. even if I have, I will announce it and will not be beating around the bushes.

Dillion's child care was closed on Teacher's Day so I brought him out on a date to visit my Gynae for my annual Pap Smear Test:

Its been ages since we last went out together. Though short trips to nearby malls and library are not counted.

Dr Khi, my Gynae whom delivered both boys still fondly remember his name- Dillion. How sweet! I gave her an updated photo of the boys and got D to write on the card. Sadly, I forgot to take a photo for remembrance sake.

We adjourned for lunch at Swensons.. then back home for his nap.

Yesterday I was home alone with the 2 boys after my work. So I gave Dillion a paper and some colour pencils and instructed him to write or colour (no specific instruction on how he should draw) so that I can have a piece of mind instead of watching the 2 boys snatch and fight all the time.

This was what he drew:

I was impressed! It may not be beautifully drawn as compared some of his peers which I saw what my friends posted on Facebook.

But definitely something from him! He is drawing!

In case you can't seem to see or decipher whats on the paper.. He drew and coloured some trees, a sun, green clouds , a tiny car, grass patch as well as many birds which look like a lil' angels to me.

This is a beautiful world through the eyes of a 4 year old.. when I asked him why the trees are not green and brown.. he replied "I love to see colours!"

He was proud of his own work.. because he insisted on hugging this piece of paper to sleep and even woke up crying for it when I kept it!

Dillion's child care held their combined Sports Day on 30 Jul 2011 at Toa Payoh Sports hall.

It was quite an emotional sight when i stepped into the hall.. can't believe I would be watching my boy participating!

1st event: balancing the bean bag on their head. Dillion was really conform to the rules.. unlike others kids held the bean bag and made a dash !

Giving is Good!

Yesterday Dillion was holding on to 2 balloons (on behalf of Damien also), complimentary from Mc Donalds.

A little girl walked passed us and kept pointing at the balloon, refusing to walk away with her Parents.

I can sense her Parent looking very irritated.. So I talked to Dillion and get him to give her one. He refused as he kept insisting that the 2nd balloon is meant for Damien, and he would want to keep it for him .. How sweet right but sweet days don't come everyday! And so I reasoned out with him by telling him that
1. We still have some balloons at home
2. Damien had gone home with Daddy, he would have long forgotten about the ballon!

He then agreed to give her the balloon and for this good act.. I gave him star as a reward.

So on the way back home, we talked about his good deeds.. about sharing and giving.
Here the conversation:

Me: Mummy is proud of you being able to share and give away the balloon.
D: Yes mummy, like i still have some balloons at home and i can give 1 away if i don't need it.
Me: Yep.. is good to give.. you make the little girl very happy!
D: so next time i have so much money, i will also give away and make people happy?

Discipline Matters..

Please take note that when my son cries for invalid reasons e.g.
1. I restrict him on playing on electronic devices because he had been on it for a tad too long. Then he sees his friend being allowed to play instead.. he started to feel imbalanced.
He cried pitifully as if its a crime to asked to stop playing and to rest his eyes.

He came sobbing to me.

Me, being the strict Mother, will NEVER SAYANG / PACIFY / COAX HIM or even to keep him quiet. Sorry, I do not practice LOVE EDUCATION in my household. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO PACIFY HIM!

Because crying for no reasons does not justify a hug from me. I will gladly just leave you alone to cry it out.. even if you come clinging on to me, I will also let you cry it out.

Because you are big enough .. its time that you differentiate between crying when necessary or for invalid reasons.

Other then being injured, hurt or valid reasons or circumstances .. e.g. your crying disturb people around you.

Few weeks back, I was tasked to pick Dillion up from school as my MIL was out and Kevin was at home to babysit Damien.

Dillion got picked at about 6.20pm. He looked sad and told me that he does not like to be picked up late and he do not like to be the last person (in his class) to go home!!

His daddy normally picked him up at about 5pm hence when he sees his friends leaving, he felt so distressed!

We did feel guilty about it. But at least there were still other kids from other classes watching telly with him! He ought to be thankful that he starts or reach school at 9am and get picked up at between 5-5.30pm.

Whenever i walked past his childcare at 7.45am on way to walk, I would see 1 or 2 lonesone children inside, sleeping on the mattress. I really feel for them.. as their parents have to get to work early hence they got to reach school early too!

Staycation at Carlton Hotel..

We did a staycation at Carlton hotel on 16-17 July 2011 mainly because of the wedding banquet held at Raffles Hotel.

We had wanted to go back to Fairmont but because of NDP rehersals it was booked out as it offers a good view of the fireworks.. what a bummer!

Anyhow, Carlton was just across the street hence we settled for that and we managed to stay at the new wing extension

Everytime we step in, we will or rather the boys will go for the bathroom to see if there is bathtub!

The bride is wearing the Kua which I wore for my own wedding! Being a Cantonese, its always good to own your own Kua.. and this had been worn or borrowed by a few of my friends for their wedding!!

Memory Lapse..

I wonder any of your school going kids have short term memory especially when it involves academic matters?

I always like to engage Dillion in telling me more about his activities in his child care when I comes back home after work. As he always get picked up earlier hence I have had no chance to take peek on whats he been doing in school

The conversation as follows:

Me: Dillion, what did you learnt in school today?
D: I forgot!
Me: (trying to encourage him to recall).. Did Mdm Koh gave you any worksheets to do, like writing ABC, 123..
D: I really forgot!.. (pause for a while, trying to think hard)
Oh.. i think i play toys, and watch TV
Me: Why can’t you remember? You just finished school a while ago?
D: Because I’m short!

What an answer from him! As if to put a stop to my never ending questions !!

I asked around and even checked with his Teachers and Principal and infact is very common for kids around his age to have this short term memory or simply put.. they could not bother to recall, as they are more interested in play time.

Which explained why D always answer me he only played lego and watch TV in school.

Dillion seem to have a phobia for swimming. He always had to hug his Daddy in the pool and refuse to let go.

So i been talking to him about safety in the pool and how he should use the float if he wants to enjoy swimming:

Me: Dillion, every kids must learn how to swim. And Daddy cannot always hug you in the pool

how about we use the float?

D: But Mummy, i'm scared! I don't like to use the float.. i just want daddy

He surprised me when he told me that he knows how to use the mouse and he really could!
Because his school been sending them for IT lesson once a month in their headquarters.. I googled more on their Ingot Lab .. this is part of their school curiculum, no extra charges.

Dillion's aunt (Kevin's sis) took him out on a playdate with his cousin- Judd at West coast park last month. We, the parents did not tag along.

They had so much fun.. and when i saw the photos that were posted on the Facebook at first.. I was shocked to see him on this:

Kevin and I asked his sis on separate occasions that how come Dillion had got the guts to play on it? Guess we may be too protective over him..
Even his child care teacher told us over the parent-teacher session that D seem to be very cautious when he at the playground or climbing up the steps!

We were having our dinner in the food court Where Dillion spotted a couple or rather a woman having a Mc Donalds meal.

He went up to them and said "Do you know, eating Mc Donalds is unhealthy" and ran away!

Yes, very out spoken my boy! Sorry but Mummy do not appreciate your frankness! The woman face turned blacked and i got him to apologise which he did.

At that time, i think his school was on the topic on unhealthy food hence they learnt that fast food are unhealthy

But he told us "Eating burgers and fries are unhealthy but Mc Donald have healthy food too.. like, corn cup and ice milo! and burger also have vegetables.. that means eating burger is healthy also??"

Yes, he caught me this time..

D: But mummy why am i not your no. 1? I came out first right (as a 1st born)?

Me: Because daddy is my husband, we got married and we had both you and damien. When you grow up you will not stay with mummy anymore. So only left with daddy and mummy in the house.

D: so can i marry you and be your husband??

Loads of Whys questions from a 4 year old.. but i knew his love for me is priceless . And very blessed that I'm still an important person in his life even though I'm a working mum as his dad spends more time with him now.

It amazes me every morning when I send Dillion to his childcare.

~ He would remove and place his shoes on the rack, sit down and unpack his school bag.
~He would take his bottle and Communication book out then place his bag into his designated pigeon hole.

~Go to the toilet to wash his hands
~Look for his friends if he is in school early before lesson proper

~ Lesson start with singing the '7 days of the week' song.

School Dental Centre..

I emailed to
School Dental Centre requesting for a slot for Dillion's dental checkup.. I gave his Name, birth cert no. and my mobile.

Within seconds, I received a call from them and an appointment was scheduled in November as I preferred a Saturday, hence the long wait.

Bouquet to the Centre.. save me time from calling them as we may not even get through if their lines are busy.

Followed by a email acknowledging our teleconversation and confirming our appointment.

All Grown Up Part 2..

Lately, Dillion refused to let us hold his hand when we ride on the escalator. With so many reports on danger of kids getting injured on the escalator because they were wearing the Crocs shoes, made me over protective of him.

He always shake my hands away and tell me, "Mummy, I'm a big boy now, i can go up (down) myself"

He independently step up ahead of me.. I really should learn to let go and that he is indeed all grown up. His teacher told us that he always been a very careful boy when he is on the playground.

I would still have to keep an eye on this boy as he have a tendency to get distracted whilst on the escalator.

I'm a big Usborne book lover.. if only i can buy the entire collection for the boys!

All Grown up..

We were shopping for a pair of running shoes and Dillion sneak out of the store.

Luckily, I saw him walking out to the toy store next door.
I observed him for a while and realised that he was so engrossed that he did not look back or not worried that his parents were not with him.

Blasted him off thereafter as I would be looking for him frantically if I did not see the directions he went when he walked out of the store.

We talked about the incident before bed time and explained to him why Mummy was very angry and smacked his backside.

I explained the consequences to him on losing his way or if we went another directions instead of heading towards the toy store.. and how he would not be able to come back and sleep with us.

He nodded his head and told me "Sorry Mummy, I will not do it again", follow with a hug from him.
Suddenly, he seem so grown up and sensible. Kids are kids.. i'm sure this incident will occur again.

Chatting with the boat man.. they only had 1 day training.. and it is hard work for them!

At Coffee bean.. chilling out

Doubt we be going back there again as we much prefer staying at Fairmont.

Firstly their hotel service is SLOW! We checked in at 4pm and yet our room was not even house kept!
Eating is expensive except for the food court but minimum spending at least $6.

I bought this 1 pc zip up Old Navy pj from Malacca- Factory Outlet Store at the mall. It selling 3pieces of the same design (they only have 1 design) for only RM $5!

So we whisked them to the PD.. and shortly both of them came down with cough. Arrgh.. double whamy!

1. Need to brush up on his Mandarin.
His cheena teacher feedbacked that he is weak and sometimes refuse to answer her question.
Have to read more books to him

2. Gross motor skill
Very cautious boy when navigating the steps in playground. Not very adventurous.

3. English
Overall satisfactory. Able to recognise words and understand instrucions.

4. School Excursion
Very participative and well behaved

5. School work
student can choose to sit on either 3 tables:
1st table: Students whom can work independently w/o supervision
2nd table: students whom still need some coaching
3rd table: A teacher will sit in with them

Strangely, teacher observed that he always choose 2nd table but he always does his work independently without any question raised.

6. Classmates
During playtime, he does not seem to communicate much with them. E.g. if he wants a toy, he will wait there instead of asking.
Hmm.. perhaps i been brain washing him to "wait for you turn.. do not snatch!"

7. Puzzle
Not good in doing Puzzle. Tend to always ask for help

8. Meal time
Always the last person to finish his food. Because he talks alot (to his mates)during meal time. Have to keep reminding him to hurry up.

Starting to be choosy over food. esp veg. have to coax him to eat them!

We went to Genting with Kevin's maternal external families. We got a free hotel stay at Highland Hotel complimentary of his mum's gambling points :p

We took a night coach to Genting. It was a nightmare handling Damien as he could not sit still and only want his Daddy to carry him.

Dillion was well-behaved and slept through the ride.

We reached there at wee hours of 3am!

Dillion loves to watch the telly eversince he was a baby. As TV is one of the best baby sitting tool for us.

Sadly, is not the case for Damien whom can't sit down to watch. His attention span is at most 5minutes and he would get impatient.

We bought the boys to the PD for their jabs. Dillion took his 2nd flu jab and Damien took his Hep jab

I did not prepare Dillion for this jab as it was impromptu decision to get them jabbed.

Damien was down with mild cough and we been delaying his vaccinations for some time.. Hence the PD felt that its safe for him to take Hep jab otherwise, we will never know when he will be well enough for his jab as he seem to have a record of falling sick every month.. just like woman having their menses :p

I discussed the option of letting Dillion to take his flu jab with PD as I knew Dillion would strongly object and will not even step into the clinic if he knew about it.

She agreed with my findings that the Flu vaccine he took in the year 2009 had kept him well and fever-free. Only in year 2010 that he had 3-4 episodes of Fever.

So I quickily told him that he need to be jabbed in order to go on holiday with us. I carried him and the PD quickily jabbed on his buttock.
He yelp and was very scream a lil'! Where Damien was cool and had no reactions at all!

Gosh.. this is really one very back dated blog post. I totally forgot about this till I saw the photo folder on my desktop.

We celebrated Dillion's Paternal GrandPa's 85th b'day in a rented bungalow chalet. If you noticed the photos posted below, you would have noticed the quality difference compared to my other photos on this blog.

To the Father of my boys..

Parenthood will not be possible without you. Though you are never good in housework, but you are very involved with the boys.

You are always the one bathing them and especially cleaning Damien's explosive poo job every morning which I'm thankful that I'm not the one doing it.

You are always the one bringing them to the playground, roughing it out with them, jogging with Dillion to tire him out so that he can sleep early for the night.

You will always be satisfied with hugs and kisses from your boys and we are always very blessed to have you as a Husband and a Father!

Snatching..

Snatching, tussle, screaming and crying.. have been almost an everyday affair for our household.

Damien is not to be trifle with.. he just love to antagonise his brother. He would simiply snatch whatever stuffs that Dillion have on hand. Even when you use similar object or others toys to distract him, is to no avail.

I had initially crushed his masterpiece and dumped it as it looked like his ordinary scribbles to me.

He got so upset and took it out of the bin. So in order to applaud and appreciate his effort.. I sticked it on the cabinet

Sick Record..

I remembered that Dillion took his 1st dose of Flu jab in Dec 2008. So for the year 2009 and 2010, he hardly fall sick or had fever at all other then cold and coughs as he also started attending child care that same year.

I wanted him to go for another dose of Flu jab in end 2010 but his PD did not see the need as the vaccine could last him for 2 years at least.

At last quarter of year 2010, I noticed that the frequency of him falling ill is much more as compared to Year 2009.

He had a few fever episodes which thankfully only lasted 1-2 days and it was only a low grade case.

In early May, he was down with a very bad case of Stomach Flu which left him so lethargic and weak that he could not stomach food/drinks for 2 days. And he also had high grade fever as well as vomiting and diarrhea.

Just last week, he was again down with Flu. He had low grade fever, cold and cough.
This time, his cough sounds horrible.. he was hacking away all the time for 3 days leading to phlegmy cough thereafter. And I had to take out his Aerochamber ventolin puffs (after being left in cold storage for so long)to use.

Now that he had recovered, I'm thinking that is time for him to go for another dose of Flu Jab.
I'm not sure if is just coincidental that his immunity system seem weaker after 1 year of the jab.

But problem now is to psycho D to go for his jab.. as he seem to think that if you do naughty things.. you will get jabbed as a punishment!

Few weeks back, I saw a message written by Dillion's 'made-in-china' Chinese Teacher in his Comm book.

I was taken aback as I had long forgotten most of chinese characters and few of it seem unfamiliar to me!

And so i passed the book to Kevin and he too could not read these 2 characters "矿泉".

We were baffled and luckily Kevin's mum came to our rescue and read out the entire message to us

What it meant was "To bring recycled mineral water bottle to school for their Easter project"

Time to brush up on our Mandarin!
