Last month, we made a very painful decision in withdrawing Dillion from his current childcare (CC) to another CC just right beneath our new place.
We bought our new pad not because of the childcare but with his Primary school enrolment in mind (4years later) as we are a stone throw from a neighbourhood school.
I wanted very much to let him remain in his current childcare but logistically is not very ideal as I had started working and it be madness if I have to take 10min to walk him to school then spend another 10-20 min commuting to the train station as Daddy starts work early at 8am hence I don't want D to spend 12 hours in childcare.
So the Principal (P) asked for an interview with us before accepting D.. I made a lil' fuss because I don't see the need and we also never did it with his current CC and was so pissed that she does not allow us to tour the CC during lesson proper.
Anyhow, I could walked pass the CC and observed whenever I can and noted that they were quite alright and they even had Kindermusik for enrichment class.
Interview Process:
D was as usual in his 'cannot sit down' mode when I was talking to the P. He was walking around her office, meddling with things. So she gave him a book and asked him to read.
He went and read all the wrong words out purposely!! P knew he did it intentionally which also means he can read and recognise few words.
The main purpose of this interview is to assess if D is a 'normal' child or 'special needs/attention' child .. if he show signs of Autism, they may not want to or rather equipped to accept him.
Come Dec, D will start Nursery 2 in a new CC. I hope he adapts well and won't cry on first day. He was sad knowing he had to part with his CC.. i feel sad for him too..
