Nothing fantastic to shout about, I would very much prefer T3 for the space and numerous restaurants to choose.
For T1, it was crowded with loads of people whom were arriving/departing and some like us came over to look-see. And I must say that the restaurant choices are limited !
Popular ones like Ashton and Paradise Inn have snakily long Q. With 2 hyper active boys, no way we can have the patient to queue.
So we conveniently settled for Saboten Japanese Restaurant.
Candid shot indeed because he refused to take a photo with me! Hmmph |
Damien.. always ready to pose for now!! |
Service was a let down as we were sat in one corner and can't get service staff's attention unless they walk over.
Food wise was not too bad however when I glance at their menu, seem like 90% are Tonkatsu set meale.g. deep-fried pork/chicken/fish. Not much variation, and no sashimi or sushi.
We were served with a big-ass bowl of shredded Cabbage which is free-flow ! Yay.. and it taste good with orange peel dressing and sesame dressing. The cabbage was fresh and crunchy. A good appetiser for hungry man!
A bowl of sesame seeds to pound before adding sweet tonkatsu sauce which goes very well with Tonkatsu.
My Saboten Set :
Their Tonkatsu is as good as those in Tonkichi.. well fried and not greasy hence you will not get sick of eating too much!
The main reason for choosing Terminal 1 was to view the World's largest Kinetic art sculpture- Kinetic Rain
"Kinetic Rain is made up of 1,216 bronze droplets that transform elegantly into multiple shapes, akin to poetry in motion. Carrying an aviation theme, the key element in every shape shows the movement of flight through slow, fluid movements. Some of the more recognisable shapes include an aeroplane, hot air balloon and a kite. One can also make out a dragon and a flock of birds amongst the 16 different programmed segments."
The Boys definitely had fun running around..
