Sometimes I find it sad to see young children struggling with school, enrichment or extra activities. And last year, I thought of sending Dillion for chinese enrichment at Thien Hsia but was amazed at how difficult it is to secure a slot. Thankfully his Mandarin teacher from his CC assured me that its is really not neccessary to send him in now as we will need to let him enjoy the process of learning Mandarin / Han Yu PinYin at his own pace. So we dropped the idea of a weekend Mandarin lesson for him.
Young children no longer have memorable childhood. I'm trying my best to let my own Boys enjoy theirs while they can, although I must admit that I am a lil' scared of Dillion may be behind his peers once he starts Primary school or I may not be doing enough for him.
So sometimes when I have a small pocket of time at home during weekday like 9-10pm, I will sit down with Dillion to guide him through 1 or 2 pages of worksheet. Mostly on tracing Chinese characters as this is the only department that is still a concern since his English language is pretty strong as he is able to read and blend words on his own.

I got this mandarin story book from a Cheri Kid shop at Kovan for $4.50 which I would recommend as it very simple and easy to read to them with HYPY included..
He had to copy 4 short pages:
Looking at all the writings, I am happy to see that his hand writing improved quite alot!
