Squint Surgery Review..
We went back to KKH for his post surgery review.
Good News: His eyes are looking straight now according to his Doc. And his vision seem ok as he was able to identify objects. And no need to patch his lazy eyes!
I was sercretly pleased when Doc was surprised that D can read out his A-Z when he saw them flashing on the monitor in a distance.. hahaha
Not-So-Good News: 65% chance of success but 35% chance of Squint coming back.
*keeping our fingers crossed" that Squint will not come back to haunt him!

Squint Surgery process..
7.40 am: Reached KKH..Everyone have to wear mask in hospital after temp checked.
Went for registration @Day Surgery.
7.50 am: I went in with Dillion to get his heartbeat checked and changed to operating gown for him.
8 am: He played in the waiting area for awhile before being sent up to the Theatre

8.10am: Kevin accompanied him in as I do not have the heart to see him under GA.
D played while waiting. I sat outside .. my heart was beating fast! so worried.
8.50 am: Sent into theatre. A nurse blew bubbles to distract him. Kevin pinned him down so that a nurse can put mask over him then he knocked out
we went down for our breaky. We bought a Barney balloon and Elmo book to cheer him up!
9.50 am: Got a call that D is out. We went back to the Theatre. Told to wait again for him to wake up from GA.
It was a long wait and made us even more worried
10.30am: Nurse came out and call for us. I decided to be the one to go in to see him.
He was whinning and crying for his Daddy. My heart break. He kept moving and crying when i carried as he still weak under GA. I could not handle and almost in verge of crying.. so gotta get Daddy to come and take over.
Barney balloon managed to calm him down. And he stopped crying.
11am-12.30pm: Went back to Day Surgery to let D recover and munch some food. He took some bread and O juice and thankfully no sign of vomitting (side effect of GA).
Daddy have to kola him and he slump his head over the shoulder, looking so sad.
Meantime.. heard a few kids crying there.. my heart goes out to them and their parents.
1pm: Reached Home. Washed him up then he puked on our bed due to side effect of GA. Fed him milk then he went back to sleep.
4pm: Woke up and back to active self! and took 1.5 bowl of porridge.
It was a tiring day and we are glad we made it.

Squint Surgery...
We sent our dear son for his Squint Surgery at KKH today- 29 Jun 09. I did not blog about this or even mention to my close friends about his surgery because I'm not ready and do not want to be swayed and affected by comments and concerns from all. :)
Dillion is well and 1 hr surgery with General Anesthetic was a success according to his Doc. We are glad that our prayers were answered for a smooth process and he is recovering well at home except that he hates instilling eye drops and its a struggle for us.
He back to his hyper active self except for his blood-shot eyes.. so he would be confined at home for the time-being..
