You know how frustrating when the diapers are nicely stacked up beside the playpen than our lil' monster will happily pull everything out and throw them all on the floor! The more you say "No" loudly, the happier he gets! cheap thrill yeah?

Snack: Apple with bread

I invested in a Phillips Blender recently eversince i discovered a fish bone in his porridge.

New snack in replace of his lunch: Blended apple, plum and a slice of white Gardenia bread as i was too lazy to cook his porridge.

Blender is god-sent as i do not have to smash his food anymore!! But it means more washing to do!

How to discipline?

Dillion has learnt to clap. But he also uses that same pair of hands to beat his Mummy and Daddy for the fun of it.
How sad rite... Being abused by your beloved child.

We played along with him till we realised we have to be firm otherwise we may be misleading into thinking that its ok to slap someone.

I scolded him and even slap his hands in return but to no avail.. he will continue to beat us just to see our reaction. There was once he even grab my finger (when i was scolding him ) and give me this angelic smile that I made me smile instead of showing an angry face.

Sigh..i seriously don't know how should i discipline my son?? Hard or soft method??

zzz Terror & virus is back..

After a few months of blessed sleep-through nites, its been disrupted once again with Dillion waking up at nite. :(

2 nights back, he had stuffed nose and woke up crying, having difficulties sleeping.

Now, my son is down with cold, cough and low grade fever. Since his virus is not full-bloom yet, i fed him medicine which was left over from previous.

With a shitty weather, i think many people or kids are gonna fall ill.
Rain rain go away pls.. as it will be a hassle taking bus and slinging a 10kg baby to his great-grandparents place.

Fusion porridge

Its been some time since i taken photos of what D had been eating..
These will be useful as reference when i need to refresh my memory!

Whats in the stock: carrot, corn and bah tau which i boiled for about 10mins.. should be longer but i don't have time to do it.
Whats main course: mixture of calrose & unpolished grains and ABC pasta


Side dish: minced chix & meirou, threadfin fish, cauliflower, pumpkin & peas & spinach (not in pix)

Getting down... safely

After few practice and demo, Dillion finally know how to get down our bed the right way.
Since he is so active nowadays, we thought we did better teach him as we do not want him to roll down the bed when unattended.

BUT.. eversince D pick up the technique, he been very gung-ho, trying to show off his new stunt by going down the bed on his own. We were pleased and always clap when he succeeded but its exasperating at same time! *pull hair*

New role

Ever since a crisis struck home.. We made some minor adjustment.
I'm now working part-time at my current workplace with flexi work schedule as some of you have been sms-ing or asking me about my status.
Thankful for being able to spend time with my son and also keep in touch with the society so as to maintain my sanity and to be able to have mola to do some online shopping for D *ahem*.

I hope i would be able to witness D's many first like walking, talking etc..

Wet-marketing..

Last week, i went down to the market @TPY lor 7 and bought bah tau for his porridge stock as well as minced mei rou.
Got the butcher to blend it twice. Mei rou cost me $4, doubled the price of normal minced pork.

For fish. the price of threadfin has gone down since CNY. $6 for 3 slices.
Fishmonger told me that cod fish is quite fishy so threadfin fish is always a safer bet.

Also managed to get minced chicken. Was trying my luck as not all stalls have it. Paid $1 for a decent pack.

Went home, slice them up and pack it individually in a small, clear plastic bag enough to last me for 2 weeks.

Milestone- 11 months

Dear Dillion..
Happy 11month old. It had been an exciting month for us as you achieved few milestone.
Mummy & Daddy is relieved that you had adapted well to your new care-giver- Great grand parents so that your ah ma can recuperate at home.

We have see so much changes in you ever since. You are able to:
1. Crawl
2. Pull yourself up and stand supported
3. Sit up from prone position
4. Clap when you are in the mood
5. Zooming around in walker


You always look at me with a smile when i say "No" to your antics, always trying your luck by repeating your actions.


Mummy and Daddy feel bad having to shuttle you to & fro everyday such that morning is always a rushed affair.. and we hope that it will only be a temp.

You are so active now and drinking lesser which is so unlike a milk addict when you were barely a month old.
We had been stern with you lately because we care for your safety whenever you try to crawl to restricted area, rummaging our bags or rubbish bin
Nevertheless, we want you to enjoy your babyhood as much as you can.. you always bring sunshine, joy and laughter to our lives..

Awhile ago, Dillion fell asleep on my chest, in my embrace. This is one of the fastest way to make him nap. Some say, its a bad habit for he may get used to it. Come'on.. how often do we have a chance to do it. I very much enjoy the closeness we shared, the bond between us... and how much longer can i do it with my 11 mth old baby..

Once my boy grows up, he won't wanna do this with his mummy. :)

Mistaken identity

Tell me, my son looks like a girl meh? 2 people actually asked me 'baby is a girl ar?" when i was doing my supermarketing today.
Whats wrong with them or perhaps he should not wear clothes with prints

Hotel stay @ Marina Mandarin

After the shoot, we checked into Marina Mandarin for part 2 of birthday celebration.
We were impressed by the hospitality and good service rendered by the hotel.

We made an impromptu decision to bring Dillion for a swim as it was deem too heavy to pack his float and pump. Thank god i brought his disposable swim diaper. The hotel staffs @swimming pool were attentive. They gave us towels, ushered us to the beach chair and even loan us floats for D but it was not big for him.

Glad that D enjoyed swimming and he sure is a water baby!

Daddy's birthday..

We had a mini celebration for Kevin as his birthday falls on 2 Mar!

We went for a family shoot at Studioloft:

Fixed routine

Dillion's daily routine have more or less fixed on weekdays.
He will take 2 naps-@10 am & 4pm for an hour long.
His great grand pa will bring him down for walk in the early afternoon and his grand-aunt will bring him out again to the play ground at 5pm.

When we arrived at his great grandparents place at 7pm, he will allow no one to carry him except his parents coz he knows its his 'finally i'm going home' time.

I seen so much changes in him lately. He is affable and interactive and not forgetting hyper active now. He is quite alright to let anyone carry him.
He is always crawling to explore esp his fav hangout will be the kitchen coz there where the food source is.

He eyes light up when we or anyone mention "gai gai lor" (means 'lets go out') or "mumm mumm" (eating). He will throw himself to anyone whom dressed to go out.

The preps..

The venue for Dillion's 1st birthday party bash have sorta firmed up as we visited it last night.. so awaiting for confirmation from the coordinator if its available.

I've ordered some deco from Birthday Direct and bought some poppers and gift packs for kiddo from Concourse last week.

Next up will be the cake. Tough decision as i can't make up my mind the theme as D do not have any particular character that he idolise. Keen on 3D cakes but cost of it will be a killer.

My headache? will be the extensive and massive guest list.. estimated to have 60-80 relatives as we come from close-knitted family.

Still have a month to go and getting so excited over the preps coz this is gonna be the major celebrations therafter no more party until the boy turns 21.

Expect the unexpected

Dillion manage to sit up on his own from prone position again when i was not watching him! Think baby always surprises you when you least expected. I was busy folding clothes, then my jaws almost dropped when i see him sitting up, attempting to pull himself up in the playpen when i thought he was only in lying down position awhile ago.

I'm also teaching him how to get down the bed the right way. He seem to be enjoying it whenever his feet touches the ground.. but when i place him near the edge he just looked down the bed blankly and refuse to do it.
