Since Dillion is able to take rice on its own just like an adult.. I decided to try doing a Rice & Soup dish for him on National Day.
I used my frozen chicken bone soup stock and added 'chap-pa-lang' (rojak) ingredients in it:
1. Wong bok vegetable
2. Fig
3. Carrot
4. pumpkin
5. Chix drumstick
Boiled them for 30min. Then took out a portion of the soup and add these for D:
6. peas
7. mince pork
8. slice of 'batang' fish
9. kai lan
10. slice of apple
11. egg tofu
Boiled for about 10min.
Rice: I steam it for 30min as we our rice cooker is huge type which is not economical to cook for 1 person.
End result? the soup is extremely sweet and tasty.
Pro? We can cook this in advance and juz heat up rice and soup when ready to serve. Unlike porridge, which some old folks advise not to heat up as it will causes 'air' in stomach.
Con? It messy with soup dripping. And its so much easier to feed him porridge.
Rest of the soup was used for our Maggi mee!
