Stomach Flu..

Reasons for the radio silence on this blog is because our family was bugged by Stomach Flu.

On wee hours of Monday (about 5am), Dillion puked twice on the bed. So I have to washed him up and changed the sheets as Kevin was on the night shift at work.
He went to sleep after that.. but I could not sleep as I'm not sure if he would puke again.

Kevin came back and complained of same symptoms of vomiting. And D puked big time after this milk feed. So I packed my boys off to the GP.
A bullet was inserted for D and a jab for K and given Pedialyte to replace fluids if he has no appetite.

Both boys recovered at end of the day. And Kevin went back to work on Wed.

Dillion went back to school on Tues and Wed but showing signs of low grade fever but still very active self.

When I picked him up on Wed for his last GUG lesson, his stomach looked bloated and belly button popped out. He was very clingy and whiny.. looks very restless.

He developed high fever after his GUG lesson (his temperature was ok during the check prior to start of lesson). So we went to the PD this time.

PD told me that the GP have prescribed wrong type of anti-diarrhea medicine to D..(at the moment, I felt like slapping myself for causing his misery.. Arrgh!) which is a cause of his gut problem and Fever is part of stomach flu.

We battled with his fever on Thursday. Temperature yo-yoing between 38~39.5 degree and he was like a zombie .. keep wanting to lie on the bed. We sponged and fed him Paracetamol/Brufen regularly.

On Friday morning, he woke up with a temp of 39 and refused to get out of bed. I kept sponging till it came down to 37 degree.
His fever finally broke in the evening.

And me? I succumbed to the Stomach Flu bug on Wednesday evening.. and I have to face the toilet bowl for that evening, puking out my dinner and could not even stomach water.

Lo and behold, we all recovered in time for the weekend! Though Dillion is not 100% back to his hyper active self.

Lesson Learnt: To consult a PD if possible.. as GP's medicine may not be suitable or may be too strong for the Kids!

Hoped all is fine.

Ethan had stomach flu before his birthday party on 3rd Oct & I suffered the same right after his party. The feeling of puking sucks...

Please take care of yourself & D & K :)
