Party peekature II

Kevin and I worked as production workers packing goodies pack for our little guests:

ON direct from the States..

Kevin's sis went to US for working trip and came back with these stash for her dear nephew.
Mostly from my favourite Old Navy and some from Gap & Polo. Yeah.. we save on shipping charges. These are presents from her for Dillion's upcoming birthday!

You open, i beat..

While i was washing the plates, Dillion crawled to the kitchen and attempted to open the first aid drawers. This time Daddy was hot on his heels..

When Dillion open the drawers, Daddy raised his hands and said "You open, i beat!" Our defiant son refuse to heed his warning and gamely open the drawers. Then Daddy beat his hands lightly..
I was trying my best not to laugh out lout when Daddy kept threatening repeatedly but to no avail.

It went on for 5minutes till Dillion sat on the floor and cried. Daddy of course gave in and carried him away.

Some peekatures..

1 week more to go for Dillion's 1st Birthday Bash on 5 Apr 08. I have not done much serious work yet.. only confirmed venue, caterer, send sms invite..

The food stuff for kids/babies goodies pack are still stashed in carton boxes :(.. I'm big procrastinator! Hopefully, i can get it done soon. But, i duno how many packs to pack.. *headache*

AND... i have yet to confirm the design for his cake. His cake is sure gonna cost me a bomb!

Dear friends.. hope to see you all next sat. May i have abrupt request not to buy toys for Dillion due to space constraint at home.. Vouchers or contribution to his Endowment Fund is much appreciated. TIA!

New item on the menu

Added asparagus to his porridge by steaming and then blending it.
Now that is close to 1 year old.. we had been lax with food he is consuming. He eats whatever we eat when we are out.

Vrom Vroom.. here i come!

Dillion is getting better with his walking in his 'mercedes' a.k.a walker. I called him from the room and he manage to find his way in even though there were some tight corners.. well, i can say that he is good at 3 point turn now!

What a life..

Snack time:
- Bread with cheese toasted lightly and break into crumbs
- served with milk in training cup

Dillion does not seem to fancy training cup as I'm trying to wean him off the bottle. He only drank 50ml but preferred to munch on his bread and watch his Wheels on the Bus VCD..
Such is life!

Food: Salmon + tomato pasta

For lunch:
~I boiled a 'rojak' stock of Chicken drumstick, carrot, tomato, corn, ginger and cai xin.
~ Boiled ABC pasta separately for 10-15 min
~ steam the salmon and blend it with tomato and bits of carrots
~ Rinse the ABC pasta with tap water
~ pour some soup over the pasta and add the blended salmon & tomato

For dinner
~ reuse the soup stock from lunch to cook porridge.
~ Steam broccoli, threadfin, mince pork & chicken and blend it up

A Great way to SAVE..

Kevin and I had always been saving up our loose coins in our Buzz Lightyear coin box. Lately I came to know that DBS got this coin deposit machine that let us deposit our coins for a fee.
However its being waived if it deposited into POSB Kids Account. So we manged to bank in $50 coins.
We just need to deposit the receipt back to the quick cheque deposit box so as to enable them to waive the charges.

What a great way to save up for our son.. now we are dilligently emptying our pockets at the end of the day.

Pneumococcal- 2nd jab

We brought Dillion for his Pneu- 2nd jab @ PD clinic @bishan. It was a new PD so I dare not take photos as we aren't that familiar with her.

Anyway, Dr Wong is quite alright.. gentle and patient. This time, the lil' one did not even cry! I managed to distract him with a toy when he is on his tummy.. and jab was over before i knew it.

I'm disappointed that there is not much weight gain. He is now 8.8kg and 73.5cm long. Hiaz.. he is really a jiat liao bee.. i wonder where did all his food gone to? Perhaps dragging his body will burnt more fats than crawling? He is currently at 50 percentile..

Next jab: chicken pox in end May then Pneu- 3rd jab in end June

Our fortune kiddo..

The numbers the Dillion picked for Wed's 4D & Thurs's Toto had helped his mummy, grandma, great grand parents & grand aunts to strike a mini windfall. Pls do not assume i won big money ok.. only $65 for 4D and $15 for toto minus my $11 capital.

Just in time to subsidise his upcoming pneumococal 2nd jab!

Well, i'm a happy mummy and can't help feeling that he is bringing us luck as its Bonus time in april.. Daddy had a pretty good one so i'm praying that my company will pay me 100% of my personal bonus for work done last year instead of halving it *finger crossed*

Think out of the box..

Cheese..

Gave Dillion a small slice of cheese as snack. He enjoyed it and keep asking for more. I'm gonna toast with bread the next time.

Tissue galore..

Whilst Dillion was sleeping, i went to the bathroom to wash up and get ready for work..

Got a rude shock when i see my dear son doing this:


He is so sneaky! He took the tissue box above our bed. And would not stop even after i called out to him.. he gave me a grin and continued his antics:

Eichhorn wooden toy..

I bought this bead chaser toy from Robinsons at $39.90:

Its value for money (for time being before he gets sick of it) as it occupies D for a good 20-30 min as he fiddle with the beads. It enabled me to mop the whole house without any disturbance.

Lunar Birthday..

Dillion lunar birthday falls on 2月初18, Tues. No major celebrations as we gotta work. But i got D's great grandma to prepare a simple meal for the boy.

A bowl of mee sua with 2 hard boiled eggs and a steamed chicken drumstick:

We fed a few spoonful of mee sua with egg yolk and let him have a taste of drumstick

The boy prefer to hold the drumstick on his own instead.. shows that he is no longer a baby!

Today marks our 6th yr ROM anniversary..
Anyway, we had a whole day out with D's god parents. The boy had fun and did not nap much. Carry his diaper bag was a challenge as we had to pack his porridge, cereal, snack, milk, bottle, toys to last him the whole day.

We started at 11am.. we had brunch then hopping around various car showroom..

Went for haircut.. clown around @home then out to J8 again to meet a friend for dinner.

He was excited when placed on it. However it only lasted for mere 5 min before he crawls or rather drag himself away.

Haircut

After breakfast, we bought Dillion for haircut as we want him to look good for his birthday bash.

D was a good boy throughout by sitting on Daddy's lap and reading Woman weekly magazine. Must be ogling at pretty woman thats why can sit still.

Feeling of Wanted..

You know you are wanted when:
1. you son kick in excitement when he see you at doorstep after a hard day at work.
2. heard your voice and woke up immediately from his nap.
3. throw himself at you.. hugging you so tightly
4. do not allow anyone to carry him after 7pm because he knows its mummy's time and time to go back home (from great grandparents place).

However, he can be indifferent to me when Kevin is around. He will always refused to let me carry him away if he does not see my sling.

Anyway, i have to console myself that perhaps Daddy is taller so the air is much fresher when carried by Daddy.

New item on the menu

Added new stuff for D's porridge today:
Tomato & salmon and added ginger to dispel wind in his stomach.

Bought the salmon from NTUC as i don't really trust the ones from wet market as we do not know the source and we heard so much news on fake cod fish that is freaking me out. At least we know that NTUC ones are from Norway.

Had a hard time slicing the salmon as they were fishy compared to threadfin.

Eve of Good Friday..

Dillion was born on 5 Apr 07, Thurs- eve of Good Friday last year.
This year, on eve of Good Friday, i went down to Thomson Medical Centre to visit an ex-colleague whom had delivered on 18 Mar 08.
While enquiring on her ward details at the counter, someone pat on my back. To my surprise, it was my Gynae! She remembered me :)
What a coincidence.. and we start to reminisce on how time flies and so fated to bump into each other on eve of Good Friday.

Avid reader...

I'm been trying to cultivate good reading bedtime habit before sleep but its not a daily affair as I'm glued to the 9pm drama. Sigh.. lazy mummy.

Last night, i took out Baby Einstein book and flip to 1st page intending to read aloud. My lil'l monster took the book away and refused to even let me touch it. He put the book on his lap and start baby-talk to himself as if he is reading the book.
How cute!

Anyway, his grand-aunt observed that D is pretty gentle when handling books.. quite surprising to see this gentle nature in him.

ABC pasta

No photos taken this time as i forgotten about it.
I intro new main dish to Dillion today- ABC pasta.

I bought skinless & boneless chicken drumstick from the wet market as soup stock.

- carrot, corn and drumstick to boil for approx 20 min.
- throw in sweet potato, fish etc
- ABC pasta.

Big mistake to boil pasta together as it become 'dry' pasta at the end. Should have cooked the pasta seperately. Anyway, added 1/2 cheese cube into pasta as added calcium for D.

A close shave..

Few nights ago, Kevin & I were enjoy our instant noodle supper in the kitchen, we heard D's cries. We chiong to the room as we thought he may have fallen from the bed.

Thank god.. he was lying on the edge of the bed with his head looking down at the floor. Guess he seem to knows the danger of moving a step further.

Teething woes

Dillion seem to be showing sign of teething (finally!)as i felt something hard on his central incisor. Been waiting for him to cut a tooth for very long time as he is coming to 1 year old and still toothless.

Anyway.. i can sense that he is not feeling so good as he he just recovered from his flu. He been cranky and sticky to us. When he need to be carried, he will whine or cry till tears start rolling down.

Last night, he woke up at 7am, crying so badly and refused to be put down and would not stop crying even after a milk feed. Feeling so frustrated over a crying baby whom cannot talk and we as a parents can't help him to relieve his pain except to apply teething gel, teething toys and shower more TLC on him.

Since he won't wanna go back to sleep.. i got changed and bought him to the wet market alone and he was back to his cheery mood then as we walked to the bus stop. Sigh.. this boy has got my genes, can't stay at home.

My poor son.. bitten by a dammed mozzie because we decided to sleep without air con due to the rainy weather.
Bad decision i must say as he got bite of a size of 20 cent coin.

Dillion caught me by surprise when I step out of the bathroom and saw him with a clothbook on his lap and baby-talking to himself:

Sick

Dillion succumb to cold and cough virus last week due to crappy weather. He still as lively and active with a running nose.
This is the first time i used a cooling pad on him when his temperature was hovering around 38-38.5 degree- low grade fever.

Thanfully, his fever went down the next day and we bought him to see his GP on thursday.
